How we hire at Zscaler
If you’re a purpose-driven problem-solver ready to join us, here’s what you can expect from our hiring process.
Application stage
We’ll review your background, experience, skills, and competencies. Your résumé should highlight the impact you made in the roles you’ve held and include insights on the data that drove your decisions. Help your résumé stand out by showcasing:
• The scope and scale of your relevant experience and the results delivered
• How you’ve solved complex ambiguous problems
• Scenarios in which you’ve successfully collaborated
• How you embody a growth mindset and act with ownership

Recruiter review
A recruiter will reach out to discuss the role and what working at Zscaler is like. Be sure that you review the Ways of Working at Zscaler prior to your first call. To ensure this opportunity aligns with your goals, the recruiter will cover the foundational details of the role, such as scope, location, and compensation parameters. They will also seek your impressions of our culture to ensure this is the right place for you. This is a two-way conversation, so bring your questions, too!

Manager Review
Next, our recruiters present the strongest candidates for hiring manager review and discussion. Managers will consider current and future needs as well as the diversity of experiences across the team to enrich our company’s culture.

Interviews
We use structured interviewing to facilitate clear, equitable, and consistent candidate assessments. At this stage, we'll invite you to meet with several interviewers, including the hiring manager, who will cover these areas:

Core functional skills needed to carry out the role’s duties. The interviewer will ask key questions to fully assess your technical/functional ability.
Your ability to analyze a situation, critically think through scenarios, and make the best decisions efficiently.
Assessing alignment with our Ways of Working will be a key focus throughout the interview process. This will allow us to confirm your fit with Zscaler's “TOPIC” core values: Teamwork, Ownership, Passion, Innovation, and Customer Obsession.
All candidates for people manager roles will be assessed against Zscaler’s HUMAN leadership principles, in addition to our core values and Ways of Working:
• Hire, develop, and inspire the best
• Understand and innovate with the customer
• Model a thoughtful bias for action
• Act like an owner
• Nurture a growth mindset
Decision
We'll review all feedback from interviews and assessments, align to the job requirements, and decide whether to extend an offer. If you participated in interviews, your recruiter will update you whether or not you receive an offer.

Offer
If you receive an offer, your recruiter will get in touch with details, including more about our benefits and people programs.

Ethical Conduct and Using AI in Your Application
At Zscaler, we value ownership and integrity. To ensure a fair and accurate interview process, we expect candidate contributions—from initial application to final interview—to be an authentic representation of one's own skills, experience, and thought process. This principle is especially important in the age of AI. We encourage using tools to assist one's preparation, but during our evaluations, one's direct, unassisted abilities are what matter. Passion, purpose, and genuine capability are what we want to see at every step.
We proudly offer various inclusive benefits and perks to meet the diverse needs of our employees and their families.
